Ideal Home: Suitable for first time owners, resident children 8+, must be homed with another greyhound Meet Minnie – A Little Girl with So Much Love to Give Minnie is a gorgeous little girl, both inside and out, and an absolute delight to know. She's a gentle, quiet soul with a lovely nature, but there's a fun side to this sweet girl, too, and it's wonderful to see her personality shining through. Sadly, Minnie's bonded kennel mate passed away while receiving care at our vets. Losing her companion was a difficult time, and Minnie soon showed us just how much she relies on the company of another greyhound. For her, having a greyhound friend by her side isn't simply a bonus — it's an important part of her happiness and wellbeing. Thankfully, love has come knocking again! Since being paired with her new boyfriend, Chubbs, we've seen Minnie become happy once more, and her beautiful personality is blossoming again. Seeing her settled and content in the company of another hound has reminded us just how important companionship is to this lovely girl. Because of this, Minnie must be homed either with Chubbs or with a resident greyhound, subject to successful, supervised introductions. She needs a home where she can enjoy the friendship and reassurance of another hound, helping her feel safe, secure and happy. Minnie is a gentle and quiet girl who doesn't need to be the centre of attention. She simply needs love, kindness and the comfort of having a four-legged friend beside her. And when she feels happy and secure, her playful side begins to emerge, making her even more of a joy to be around. We would love to see Minnie find a home where she can continue to blossom, surrounded by the love she deserves and with a greyhound companion to share life's pleasures. Could you offer Minnie the happy ending she's waiting for? Whether that means welcoming Minnie and Chubbs into your home together, or introducing her to a suitable resident greyhound, this precious girl deserves the chance to feel settled, loved and part of a family again. If you think you could offer Minnie the home and companionship she needs, please contact us to find out more about this very special girl. ❤️

About Minnie

What life with Minnie looks like

Minnie is a senior greyhound dog waiting at Crossing Cottage Greyhound Sanctuary (RGT East Midlands) in United Kingdom.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Minnie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Minnie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Crossing Cottage Greyhound Sanctuary (RGT East Midlands) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Minnie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Minnie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Crossing Cottage Greyhound Sanctuary (RGT East Midlands) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Minnie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Minnie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Crossing Cottage Greyhound Sanctuary (RGT East Midlands) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Minnie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
