adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Minnie has found her luck! Her story: Minnie was found together with her brother Mickey on the roadside in the middle of nowhere. They were likely abandoned there and left to their fate, but fate had a good hand with the two little ones. When our team found them, they were covered in ticks. The two siblings probably wouldn't have made it through the winter. On the way to our private shelter in Busag, the two were completely exhausted and fell asleep. Now they are waiting there for the start of their new life. Minnie is an energetic, cute young female dog who likes to run around the exercise yard with her brother. She finds people very exciting, but it sometimes takes a moment for her to feel comfortable enough to be petted. Once this moment is overcome, she enjoys the cuddles and closeness very much and often falls asleep. Minnie is looking for people who don't have high expectations of her and can show her how a normal dog life works. She is still young and has a lot to learn. Sometimes a little mishap shouldn't be held against her, and Minnie should always be guided with a positive reinforcement training style. She is looking forward to her new life with nature walks, lots of snuggling, and also attending dog training classes. In the first year of life, dogs should not be left alone as much as possible. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the little rascals' lives upside down. They "forget" much of what they have learned and their ears are on high alert. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to be consistent— but loving—in training. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Have your interest been piqued? Then don't wait. Minnie should not spend the rest of her life in the shelter. As soon as Minnie has all her vaccinations, she is ready for her new life. Then she will be fully vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and microchipped. She will also bring her EU pet passport. Against an adoption fee of 500 Euros, Minnie can be adopted. She would also be happy to stay in a foster home. Thank you Gabi C.! You gave Minnie her name and thus the start of a new life. As of: 15.10.

Stand: 15.10.2024

About Minnie

What life with Minnie looks like

Minnie is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Minnie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Minnie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Minnie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Minnie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Minnie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Minnie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Minnie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
