Minosch

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 10 years

At the animal shelter since: June 2023 Estimated Age: Born around May 2016 Estimated Shoulder Height: About 50 – 59 cm Get to know Minosch in further videos here! Quiet and gentle senior Minosch is waiting for his people! Quietly and inconspicuously, Minosch roamed the streets of Romania as if he had learned to make himself invisible to the world. Likely, he has been on his own for a long time without anyone looking after him. Today, Minosch is waiting at our Romanian partner animal shelter for the chance at his own home. More information about how the dogs come to the animal shelter and answers to general questions can be found in our Animal Welfare FAQ. Minosch appears to us as a somewhat reserved male dog with a calm demeanor. At first meeting, the furry nose shows itself shy but friendly and attentive. Curiously observing his surroundings, he absorbs new impressions at his own pace. After a short time, it becomes clear that he seeks contact with humans and enjoys their proximity without pushing himself into the foreground. His gentle and balanced nature speaks for itself, and while other dogs bark, Minosch remains calm and quiet. With other dogs, Minosch is social and gets along well. Minosch is a quiet companion who needs time to settle in, but in return touches you with delicate approaches, quiet closeness, and small moments of trust. For him, we seek a peaceful, ideally rural home with experienced and patient people who meet him with understanding and empathy. A confident only dog could support Minosch, as he strongly orients himself towards fellow animals and gains security from them. Rescue dogs always bring their own story with them, and so does Minosch. How he will react to life in Germany cannot be predicted exactly beforehand. But whoever meets Minosch with patience, perseverance, and kindness gives a sensitive dog a second chance and wins a very special lifelong companion. And one thing is certain: Whoever adopts instead of buying gives not only an animal a second chance but actively chooses against animal suffering and for a life with a very special companion by their side. Already smitten? Send us a self-disclosure form! Adoption If you are thinking about adoption, read through the adoption process first. All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas, and neutered before travel arrangements (exception are puppies under 6 months and very old dogs). Dogs older than one year are also tested for Mediterranean diseases. If you have any further questions, feel free to send a message to our mediation team.

About Minosch

What life with Minosch looks like

Minosch is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Hunderettung Europa e.V. in Duisburg.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Minosch, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Minosch?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hunderettung Europa e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Minosch on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Minosch if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hunderettung Europa e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Minosch already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Minosch isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hunderettung Europa e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Minosch and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
