Minou

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

animal rescuer: Vania Tzoneva born: approximately June 2023 Gender: female Location: Bulgaria spayed: yes FIV test: negative FeLV test: negative Disabilities: no Compatible with: Children: not known Cats: yes Dogs: not known Requirements: NONE Single housing only suitable for apartment living, NO outdoor access Balcony or terrace desired (if available, safety measures are required) Minous' start in life was anything but gentle: Along with Suki, she was simply thrown over the garden fence of our animal rescuer Vania as a tiny baby and left to her fate. We don't know where the two came from or whether they might even be sisters - what is certain is that they were completely on their own there. Fortunately, Vania quickly discovered the two little ones, took them in without hesitation and lovingly cared for them. More than two years have passed since Minou tumbled over Vania's fence. She has developed into a lovely cat who gets along well with other felines. Minou is friendly towards people, although with so many rescued animals, there is never enough time for prolonged cuddling. She is actually waiting for the attention she has had to share with so many others to finally receive it in her own family. In her new home, Minou will need some time to adjust, as she knows nothing else besides the cat room at Vania - but with a little patience, she will surely thaw quickly and show how much she enjoys human company. It's really time for Minou to exchange the cat room for a real home. We are looking for people who can give her the necessary quiet to settle in and look forward to finally giving her all the love and security she has been waiting for so long.

About Minou

What life with Minou looks like

Minou is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Minou, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Minou?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Minou on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Minou if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Minou already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Minou isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein early rather than rehoming privately; they know Minou and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
