adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Miriel has found her people! Her story: Cluj, Romania. Gentle Mouse seeks a home in happiness. Now it's time for Miriel to finally experience the sunny sides of life. Who will show her how beautiful a cat life can be? The delicate Miriel has been through a terrible ordeal. She was found alone in a lonely field. And that wasn't enough; she was placed in a plastic bag and simply discarded. Fortunately, she managed to free herself. However, the poor mouse was half-starved and very thirsty. Miriel was fortunately discovered by one of our helpers and rescued from this terrible situation. She was brought to one of our foster homes and fattened up. It's clear she had recently given birth to kittens, as she still had milk. However, there was no trace of them. We assume they were deliberately separated from her. Once the 3-year-old Miriel settles in, she is very active. She encourages the other cats at the foster home to play. She loves people more than anything and enjoys being kept busy by them. Miriel therefore wants to move into a home where there are already cats present and the people have plenty of time for her. She loves playing with her friends and should have that opportunity in her new home. Miriel is initially afraid of dogs but is gradually getting used to them. Outdoor cat life is not for Miriel, but she would certainly be very happy with a secure balcony where she can enjoy the sun and watch birds.

About Miriel

What life with Miriel looks like

Miriel is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Miriel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Miriel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Miriel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Miriel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Miriel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Miriel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Miriel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
