Mirmił

Male · Senior · 10 years

Mirmił is a large, strong dog whose life has been greatly shaped. After his caregiver left, he ended up in an animal shelter, which was a huge change for him. A new place, noise, strangers and other dogs made him unsure and confused at first. He needed time to find his way in this new reality. Today we know one thing: Mirmił has great potential and a big heart. He has learned well to walk on a leash and loves walks. He is full of strength and energy. Sniffing, exploring the world brings him great joy. He is an active dog who would gladly accompany his human on daily walks and trips. At the same time, Mirmił has a great need for closeness. He is a very affectionate dog, focused on the human and eager for contact. He likes petting, hugging, playing together, and even training. He sits nicely on command, cooperates willingly and carefully observes his caregiver. During walks, he often returns to check if the human is still by his side. Relationship and a sense of security are extremely important to him. Although he is large and strong, there is a sensitive dog inside who becomes very attached. Once he knows and likes someone, he doesn't see the world beyond that person. He wags his tail, offers his head for petting and seeks closeness. We are looking for a calm, responsible and stable home for Mirmiła. Ideally without other animals, as he doesn't accept dogs and reacts to them with barking. He needs a home that will never disappear, and a person he can rely on. Mirmił is not looking for a temporary place. He is looking for a home forever, where he will be a full member of the family. If you are dreaming of a loyal companion who will give you his whole heart and energy, Mirmił may be the dog for you.

PL·Show original

Mirmił to duży, silny pies, którego życie mocno doświadczyło. Potrzebował czasu, by odnaleźć się w nowej rzeczywistości. Lubi głaskanie, tulenie, wspólną zabawę, a nawet ćwiczenia. Merda ogonem, nadstawia głowę do głaskania i szuka bliskości.

About Mirmił

What life with Mirmił looks like

Mirmił is a extra-large senior dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Does not accept other dogs, needs quiet stable home without other animals

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mirmił, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mirmił?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mirmił on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mirmił if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mirmił already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mirmił isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mirmił and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
