Mischling Lord

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 7 years

Mischling Lord mixed breed, male/neutered, born 2019, surrendered dog…Lord (ca. 2019 born) is a very cautious dog who seeks out people with experience. It takes him a while to initiate contact. Once he realizes that you mean him no harm, he becomes a playful and energetic dog with whom you can have a lot of fun. Lord has not yet had much experience in life and reacts very sensitively to strangers and new situations. If he feels overwhelmed, he may also try to escape. You need to recognize this and be able to handle it. Therefore, during his adjustment period, you should have a lot of patience and definitely work with a leash and safety harness. Because Lord would also independently seek out escape routes if necessary. However, this tendency diminishes once he settles in. Here at the shelter, he runs around unsupervised and there have been no problems. He is very compatible and currently runs regularly with a female dog. Therefore, he would also be suitable as a second dog. However, he still requires time to work with him. Lord needs people who can help him become more self-assured and secure. Those who can practice with him how to better handle new situations, but also those who can coax him out of his shell playfully. Because Lord is also a little mischief-maker who likes to make fun of people and dramatize things more than they actually are. Children under a certain age should not live in his household, as they are currently still too stressful for him. His future yard should be enclosed, and a climbing barrier is not necessary with proper adjustment. Please enable JavaScript in your browser to complete this form. About Mischling Lord

What life with Mischling Lord looks like

Mischling Lord is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Lauterbach in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mischling Lord, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mischling Lord?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Lauterbach handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mischling Lord on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mischling Lord if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Lauterbach will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mischling Lord already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mischling Lord isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Lauterbach early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mischling Lord and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
