Misko

Male · Puppy · 4 months

Misko’s mum must have been someones dog, but sadly when he was a little puppy they decided they didn’t want him, and the solution was to dump him in a cardboard box in front of a public shelter, knowing that the general practise is, after a certain period, to release dogs who are not adopted, to live as strays dogs – a life that is hard for any dog, but even more for one who grew up in a shelter. But Misko has grown into such a friendly and happy youngster, so the staff at the shelter reached out asking for help finding him a loving home. He has been exposed to lots of other friendly dogs, and to many people and children at the various events where children from kindergardens and schools come to visit. The ideal home for this lovely boy has a friendly, playful doggy companion he can play with, and plenty of time to devote to his education. He will be happy to live in a home with children. Microchipped and fully vaccinated.

About Misko

What life with Misko looks like

Misko is a medium-sized puppy/kitten dog waiting at Strays Without Borders in Skopje.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇲🇰Adopting from North Macedonia

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Misko, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Misko?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Strays Without Borders handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Misko on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Misko if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Strays Without Borders will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Misko already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Misko isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Strays Without Borders early rather than rehoming privately; they know Misko and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
