Missy & Mabel

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Adult · 7 years

They are looking for a home without dogs. They may be ok to live with another cat with careful introductions as long as there are enough space and resources. Small pets will need to be securely housed Mabel can be quite shy at times and so the girls are looking for a home with children 7yrs+ who will given them time and space and be calm around them Will need indoor and outdoor access. Would recommend gradual introductions to outside when settled into new home. Ideally, these introductions should be done through a garden and away from roads. Missy and Mabel are a bonded pair so they will be looking to start their new lives together. Missy is Mabel’s mum and has had a bit more life experience than Mabel, so she’s more confident and forwards than her daughter. Mabel though will follow her Mum everywhere while she’s settling, and once she sees that there’s nothing to be afraid of she will enjoy just as much fuss as her mother. They both enjoy human company and headrubs.

About Missy & Mabel

What life with Missy & Mabel looks like

Missy & Mabel is a small adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Wood Green in London.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Missy & Mabel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Missy & Mabel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Wood Green handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Missy & Mabel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Missy & Mabel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Wood Green will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Missy & Mabel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Missy & Mabel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Wood Green early rather than rehoming privately; they know Missy & Mabel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
