This is Missy, a beautiful 8-year-old white cat. She came to us because she was not using the litter box at her old home. This behavior can have many different reasons, but for Missy it was most likely caused by the presence of another cat in the house. She experienced stress from this and started peeing outside the litter box. We no longer see this behavior at our shelter. Therefore, we expect that if she comes to a new, quiet home without other animals, she will not show her untidy behavior anymore. We have gotten to know Missy as a sweet cat who is always up for a good cuddle session. She purrs loudly and gives many head bumps. However, we also see that she still finds other cats exciting. What does Missy need? A quiet home with no other cats or dogs. Also, Missy needs the opportunity to go outside. This has been her life so far, making it important for her to continue doing this. It is essential that she ends up in a safe environment, such as a quiet neighborhood.

Dit is Missy, een mooie witte poes van 8 jaar oud. Missy is bij ons gekomen doordat ze bij haar oude thuis onzindelijk was. Dit gedrag kan veel verschillende redenen hebben, maar bij missy werd dit hoogstwaarschijnlijk veroorzaakt door de aanwezigheid van nog een andere kat in het huis. Hier ervaarde ze stress van, waardoor ze naast de bak ging plassen. Inmiddels zien wij dit gedrag bij ons op de opvang niet meer. Hierdoor verwachten wij dat als ze in een nieuw, rustig huis komt zonder andere dieren, ze haar onzindelijke gedrag ook niet meer zal laten zien. We hebben missy inmiddels leren kennen als een lieve kat, die altijd wel in is voor een goede knuffel sessie. Hierbij spint ze luidskeels en worden er veel kopjes gegeven. Toch zien we ook dat ze andere katten nog wel spannend vind. Wat heeft missy nodig? Een rustig huis, waar geen andere katten of honden zijn. Ook moet missy de mogelijkheid hebben om naar buiten te gaan. Dit heeft ze haar hele leven gekund, waardoor het belangrijk is dat ze het kan blijven doen. Hierbij is het belangrijk dat ze in een veilige omgeving terecht komt, zoals op een rustige buurt.
