Mitsy

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Adult · 8 years

Mitsy will need a dental operation, either before she goes home or will need to go home and come back to us for it. She has a medical concern for tooth resorption, our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome Mitsy and you are a successful match. We would recommend all smalls pets are securely housed. Mitsy would need an adult only home as she can be slow to warm up to people and is not afraid to tell you off if you move too fast for her. A quiet home would be best for this lovely lady, with lots of safe hiding places for her to settle into. As she has only been outside the once she will need a private garden to gradually get used to it. Generally we recommend outside access after 3 weeks, however with Mitsy, you may have to wait longer as it is more important she settled into the house and with her new people before giving her something else to worry about.

About Mitsy

What life with Mitsy looks like

Mitsy is a small adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Wood Green in London.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mitsy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mitsy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Wood Green handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mitsy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mitsy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Wood Green will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mitsy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mitsy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Wood Green early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mitsy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
