Adopt Mniszek

Male · Young · 1 year

If there was a mini version of Sprocket from the famous Fraggle Rock, it would be the exceptional and people-friendly Mniszek. The same beady eyes, the same fluffy, slightly matted fur and the tail raised up, topped with a white spot. Always cheerful, energetic and alert. Here is our young one in all his glory. Mniszek has had some work to do. Although he is extremely sensitive and expressive in his relationships with people, the world in many aspects is still a mystery to him. Loud cars can scare him and the rest of the city noise makes Mniszek step back, seeking support from his caretaker. Other dogs he treats with attention. He sometimes rushes towards them with great interest. Some he also barks at, trying to show who is in charge in the neighborhood. Therefore, he is looking for a family that will carefully introduce Mniszek into the life of a calm city dog. It would be best if they could find themselves in a stable, quiet environment, aware of the needs of the four-legged. Mniszek has fought against kennel cough, and before that, fur care was necessary. The dog arrived at Paluch badly neglected. Despite this, he is not lacking in beauty. And his character? He will bring sunshine into the life of anyone who gives him time. Hurry up.

Gdyby istniała mini wersja Sprocketa ze słynnej bajki Fraglesy, byłby nią wyjątkowy i otwarty na człowieka Mniszek. Te same koralikowe oczy, ta sama bujna, nieco osmolona fryzura i zadarty do góry ogon, zwieńczony białym kleksem. Zawsze radosny, energiczny i czujny. A charakter? Wniesie słońce w życie każdego, kto poświęci mu czas. Spieszcie się. Idzie zima

About Mniszek

What life with Mniszek looks like

Mniszek is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Recovering from kennel cough, needs coat care, requires socialization and urban environment training

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mniszek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mniszek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mniszek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mniszek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mniszek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mniszek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mniszek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
