Mochi

Male · Senior · 13 years

Mochi was abandoned at 13 years old. After a lifetime, he ended up alone, disoriented and without understanding why he no longer had a home. As with many older dogs, we don't know all his story, but we do know something very important: Mochi deserves much more than what has been his lot in life. He is a small dog, calm and very sweet. He has that serene and tender look of grandparents who only want to feel safe and loved again. Mochi doesn't ask for big things, just a little affection, calm and a family that never abandons him again. Despite everything he has been through, he remains a noble and good dog. He loves being with people and enjoying the tranquility. He is one of those dogs who fill the house with his presence and his sincere love. Older dogs are often the most invisible, but also the most grateful. Mochi deserves to spend this stage of his life resting in a warm bed, taking quiet walks and finally feeling what it's like to belong to a real family. We know that whoever opens the doors of their home will discover a wonderful companion full of tenderness.

ES·Show original

About Mochi

What life with Mochi looks like

Mochi is a small senior dog waiting at Protectora Malaga in Málaga.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mochi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mochi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Protectora Malaga handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mochi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mochi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Protectora Malaga will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mochi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mochi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Protectora Malaga early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mochi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
