Adopt Molly

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Bracken mixed-breed female dog Molly is looking for active people, as she is a true sighthound who loves fast-paced movement. She has already been in Germany for a year and originally comes from Greece, where she is classified as a Bracken mixed-breed female dog (Hellinikos Ichnilatis). The spayed female dog is child-friendly, can be left alone for a few hours at a time, rides comfortably in the car, and is fully house-trained. Once sufficiently exercised, she is calm and balanced indoors. She enjoys lying in her dog bed or watching the children play. Molly also gets along well with fellow animals; currently, she lives together with a small female dog, which works out very well. We are seeking interested adopters for Molly who can provide her with mental and physical stimulation through tracking work, mantrailing, or long running and hiking tours. Molly needs two to three hours of intensive exercise daily to stay happy and balanced. She welcomes visitors warmly into the house and greatly enjoys sunbathing in the garden. We will only rehome Molly to a family with an attached, securely fenced garden, as her strong prey drive means she cannot be let off-leash outdoors. Molly is not a dog who can just tag along casually—potential adopters must genuinely have enough time to dedicate to her exercise and mental stimulation. If you would like to meet Molly, please feel free to send us an email with some basic information, or call us at 0151 – 55972522. About Molly

What life with Molly looks like

Molly is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Julias Tierheim Ahaus in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Molly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Molly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Julias Tierheim Ahaus handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Molly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Molly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Julias Tierheim Ahaus will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Molly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Molly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Julias Tierheim Ahaus early rather than rehoming privately; they know Molly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
