Molly

Mixed Breed · Female

Molly's story is that of many of our residents: one day she simply appeared in a suburb of Huelva. No one knew where the affectionate female dog came from - she was there one day and tried to get by as best she could. Fortunately, Molly behaved so helplessly, or rather clung so persistently to those residents who were willing to give her something edible and a few friendly words, that these people asked our friends from Puntanimals to take care of the lovely female dog. As requested, Molly moved into the care of our partners on the same day. Still, our funny caramel candy is completely smitten with humans. She cautiously "begs" to be near the two-legged beings and enjoys just being there and occasionally receiving a caress or a kind word. You see, Molly would never barge in through the door, no, this refined lady knows how to secure the attention of "her" humans in her own special way. Molly also handles her four-legged friends with consideration without being afraid. She is simply not a "pushy" type and any anger or roughness is foreign to her, which is typical for Podencos and their mixes. Molly certainly had a home once, and it clearly hurts her that she lost it. Sadly, she watches in the evening as the cages close, the caretakers whisper a final "Buenas noches" and then leave her alone for the night... A quiet home with a truckload of love (and every day!) will heal the wounds of our sympathetic and affection-seeking girl. Molly needs people who never find it annoying when she simply has the need for closeness - as said, she is never intrusive or distant. With open arms and an open heart, a place on the sofa and in the car, and most importantly: a fixed place by her human's side - this is how Molly would like to be welcomed into her new life.

About Molly

What life with Molly looks like

Molly is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Molly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Molly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Molly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Molly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Molly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Molly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Molly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
