MonaRESERVED ID No.: 1056122 Breed: Labrador-Kelpie Mix Age: approx. 08/2025 Gender: female Shoulder height: approx. 44 cm Neutered/Spayed: No Location: Marbella (Spain) Inquiry Form Mona wants to bring you joy and happiness Mona (*approx. 08/2025, approx. 44 cm) is a stunningly beautiful black mixed-breed dog who was found on the street and arrived at our Spanish partner animal shelter TripleA in mid-June 2026. She was in good condition, but unfortunately she wasn't microchipped, and so far no one has come forward to claim her. We suspect she might have some Labrador in her, perhaps mixed with a Mallorcan Shepherd Dog or possibly even a bit of Kelpie. She’ll probably continue growing a little, but she’s likely to remain medium-sized. Mona behaves very sociably toward her fellow dogs. At the shelter, she lives together with a group of male and female dogs and gets along well with all of them. The enchanting Mona is a very active and intelligent dog, and therefore she’s looking for a home with people who also enjoy being active and training with Mona—perhaps even those interested in participating in canine sports together, whether it’s agility, obedience, trick dogging, or maybe even training as an assistance or service dog would be just right for this clever little lady. For Mona, we’d love to find a home where there are already one or more dog friends for her to play and romp with. Of course, with sufficient mental and physical stimulation and regular contact with other dogs, she could also be kept as an only dog. We’re convinced that the lovely Mona, with her sweet nature, will bring much joy to her new family. If you think this black beauty might be a great match for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch! Mona is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has an EU pet passport. Before leaving the shelter, she’s been tested for Mediterranean diseases and has been dewormed and flea-treated. Vaccinations: Yes Mediterranean check: No Microchip: Yes Diseases: None known Service dog: No Protection fee: €500 including transport Contact person: Kris Melka Email: Inquiry form

About Mona

What life with Mona looks like

Mona is a puppy/kitten labrador retriever dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mona, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mona?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mona on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mona if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mona already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mona isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mona and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
