Monchi

European Shorthair · Male · Kitten

Monchi is the only child of a shy mother who came to our association pregnant. However, he shouldn't be an only child for long... The very next day, two 2-3 day old orphaned puppies were found in a garden shed in a neighboring town, which were immediately accepted and nursed by Monchi's mother. So he got adopted siblings. Monchi is friendly and playful despite his shy mother and would like to move to a new home with his adopted brother Andy. Andy Our cat children must be spayed or neutered at 6 months of age. This must be proven to the association by a spay/neuter certificate. Desired home: The two would like to have a family with older children or a couple. Apartment keeping, preferably with a secured balcony or later outdoor access in a completely traffic-calmed area, both are possible. About Monchi

What life with Monchi looks like

Monchi is a kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Tierschutzverein 7 Gebirge e.V. — Orscheider Hof in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Monchi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Monchi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein 7 Gebirge e.V. — Orscheider Hof handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Monchi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Monchi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein 7 Gebirge e.V. — Orscheider Hof will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Monchi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Monchi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein 7 Gebirge e.V. — Orscheider Hof early rather than rehoming privately; they know Monchi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
