Adopt Monti

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 12 years

Who are those elegant strides? Make way, here comes Monti! This little pup who seems to have gloves on his paws is Monti. He's 12 years old but only appears that way because of his snowy nose; otherwise, he looks like a real youngster! Our little guy adores playing with balls; it's what he loves most in the world! We just have to call him a little bit for his ears to perk up and he'll come bounding over to us very happily. He's super good; he's not bothered by barking, by sounds—nothing at all! He's so good that he lets us do anything to him: we can pet him, tease him, and run alongside him, and all he'll want to do is follow us and have us throw him some toy. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to give this funny old gentleman the home he deserves. Not only will he fill your home with love, but also with elegance. Write for him and we'll get back to you right away.

About Monti

What life with Monti looks like

Monti is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Protectora Malaga in Málaga.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Monti, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Monti?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Protectora Malaga handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Monti on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Monti if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Protectora Malaga will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Monti already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Monti isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Protectora Malaga early rather than rehoming privately; they know Monti and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
