Monty

Greyhound Β· Unknown

MontyπŸ–€ Meet Monty, also known as Marvellous Monty! This marvellous boy is looking for his second chance at home life. πŸ’™Monty has found himself back with us after discovering that life in a home with children was a little overwhelming for him. We feel he would be happiest in an adult-only home where his need for space can be understood and respected, allowing him to relax and truly settle into family life.Monty really is a big softie at heart and absolutely loves people. He enjoys greeting everyone he meets and is known for his big, happy, waggy tail! He is a very loving boy who enjoys being part of his family's life.Out and about, Monty has shown us some lovely manners. He walks on a harness and has demonstrated some really good heelwork skills. His introductions with the spaniel have been excellent, and he has happily interacted with other dogs while out and about with us at the local park. He has also previously lived in a home with another greyhound, which was no concern for him. However we know Monty enjoys his own space and having all the attention to himself!Although Monty would love a quiet, chilled-out home environment, don't be fooled into thinking he's a complete couch potato! He still enjoys having his mad five minutes and will happily show off his playful side when the mood takes him. His ideal home would give him the balance of a calm environment where he can relax, alongside opportunities for walks, play and plenty of affection.Monty is Green graded, and we feel he could be a lovely choice for first-time owners who have an understanding of dogs and are willing to continue building on the good work he has already shown us. As with any dog, his new family will need to take the time to understand his individual personality, respect his boundaries and allow him to settle at his own pace.Monty was house trained during his previous time in a home and was used to being left for short periods. We are confident that, with the right routine and a gradual build-up, he will be able to settle back into this again in his new home.Above all, Monty is a very lovely big boy with an even bigger heart. He has so much affection to give and is looking for someone who will appreciate his gentle, loving nature and give him the chance to show just what a wonderful companion he can be.Could you be the person to give this marvellous boy the forever home he deserves? 🐾❀️ REHOME MontyπŸ–€ SITEMAP | PRIVACY POLICY | T's & C's | WEBSITE DONATED BY 2D Β© Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue 2026 |

About Monty

What life with Monty looks like

Monty is a large adult greyhound dog waiting at Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible β€” a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Monty, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Monty?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Monty on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Monty if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Monty already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Monty isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Monty and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
