Toen we de hulpvraag kregen om Monty te vangen en een thuis voor hem te zoeken, kregen we een bange en gelaten kat in opvang. Veel plezier in het leven en lieve zorgen had deze vriend nog niet gekend. Hij verstopte zich vaak in een holletje en had weinig vertrouwen in de mens. Hoe kan het ook anders als je voortdurend weggejaagd werd en moeilijk eten vond. Maar zijn opvangpapa hield vol en zijn geduld werd beloond. Monty maakte de klik en na enkele maanden zien we een totaal andere kat, ééntje die blij is om mensen te zien, en ja, hij houdt ondertussen van streeltjes, zolang je maar voorspelbaar bent en hem rustig benadert. Verstoppen mag nog, maar hoeft niet meer. De twee andere aanwezige opvangkatjes helpen hem ook vertrouwen krijgen en hij speelt al eens graag mee met hen. Over eten hoeft hij zich ook geen zorgen meer te maken.
