Monty

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 5 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Monty has found a home! His story: The beautiful Monty is on the lookout for his people. The little fellow was born on the street with his siblings. And even though his mother Frozen had a owner, all were brought to safety by Dorel. While Frozen has already drawn her ticket for the big trip to happiness, Monty is still on the lookout. His mother is 55 cm tall. It is assumed that Monty will also grow big. Monty's mother, Frozen, is a Cane Corso mixed breed. Monty is a very friendly puppy. He loves people and other dogs. Whether he gets along with cats, we have not yet tested. Monty is looking for people who don't expect anything from him at first and show him how a normal dog life works. He is still a baby and has to learn a lot. One or another mishap shouldn't be held against him and Monty should always be guided with a positive reinforcement training style. He is looking forward to his new life with nature walks, lots of snuggling hours, and also a visit to the puppy school. In the first year of life, puppies should be as little alone as possible. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the lives of the little rascals upside down. They "forget" often everything they have learned so far, and the ears are on full blast. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to be consistent – but loving – in training. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Do you think that Monty is exactly the right one for you? Then get going. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 24.06.2024

About Monty

What life with Monty looks like

Monty is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Monty, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Monty?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Monty on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Monty if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Monty already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Monty isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Monty and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
