Flight Patrons – Animal Protection Cannot Go Without Flight Patrons By becoming a flight patron, you take an animal from abroad on a trip to Germany. You then hand it over directly at the airport to its new owners or an animal welfare worker. An Flugpate is the only way for many dogs and cats to come to their new home. Often, the animals from abroad are already rehomed, but cannot travel alone. Then, associations need people who can register the animal as a travel companion. For the flight patron, no costs or complications arise! The foreign animal welfare workers bring the animal to the airport on time and check it in. Depending on the airline and weight, the small travel companion either travels in the passenger or cargo hold. The animals usually receive a sedative and are very quiet during the flight. If the Flugpate picks up the animal from the special baggage collection, it is usually right next to the normal baggage claim. At the exit, you hand the four-legged friend over to the happy owners or an animal welfare worker if it is going to a foster home. Flugpaten – Tierschutz geht nicht ohne Flugpaten Bei einer Flugpatenschaft nimmst du nach einer Reise ein Tier aus dem Ausland mit nach Deutschland. Dort übergibst du es direkt am Flughafen seinen neuen Besitzern oder einem Tierschützer. Ein Flugpate ist für viele Hunde und Katzen die einzige Möglichkeit, in ihr neues Zuhause zu kommen. Oft sind die Tiere aus dem Ausland schon vermittelt, können aber alleine nicht reisen. Dann brauchen die Vereine Menschen, die das Tier auf ihrer Bordkarte mit anmelden. Für den Flugpaten entstehen dabei keine Kosten oder Umstände! Die ausländischen Tierschützer bringen das Tier pünktlich zum Flughafen und checken es ein. Je nach Fluglinie und Gewicht reist der kleine Flugbegleiter entweder im Passagier- oder Frachtraum. Die Tiere bekommen in der Regel ein Beruhigungsmittel und sind während des Flugs ganz still. Wenn das Tier im Frachtraum transportiert wird, holt der Flugpate es bei der Sondergepäck-Ausgabe ab – das ist meistens direkt neben den normalen Gepäckbändern. Am Ausgang übergibst du den Vierbeiner dann den glücklichen Besitzern oder einem Tierschützer, falls er hier auf eine Pflegestelle kommt.
