Moon

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

♀, born approx. 6/2025 friendly - cheerful - affectionate in Bulgaria ADOPTION ASSISTANCE Our Moon is a Terrier mix female born around June 2025, approximately 27 cm tall. Moon was found by us with her puppies and her friend along with their offspring on a cemetery. They came up to us happily, all of them were approachable and secure, and they could find shelter with a private animal rights activist. Now they are safe and taken care of. Moon is a very charming young dog who takes great care of her puppies. But she also enjoys the attention and affection from humans. Moon is friendly to everyone, showing a cheerful nature. Of course, she still needs to be taught the basics of being a dog, house training, staying alone, and walking on a leash with loving consistency and positive reinforcement. With proper guidance, for example through a dog school, she will learn quickly. We also hope for people who see Moon as a "dog" and not just a portable accessory. She will love exciting walks that don't have to be limited to the next two green areas in an inner city. She loves adventures, tasks, search and sniffing games, and would probably enjoy coming to work with you so you won't be alone all day. Moon would love to move in with a social first dog since she has never been alone before and enjoys canine company. If there is no first dog, daily companionship should be ensured. Unfortunately, we cannot say how Moon gets along with cats. Mama Moon will be spayed after "weaning" and is ready to travel in August. Moon will be vaccinated, chipped, and spayed with a Snap 4D test (the first one was already negative for all Mediterranean diseases). She is located at a private foster home in Bulgaria. The adoption fee is €520. Do you have the right home for Moon? Then please contact us using the following contact form. ©2022 by Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V.. Created with Wix.com

About Moon

What life with Moon looks like

Moon is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. in Berlin.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Moon, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Moon?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Moon on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Moon if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Moon already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Moon isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Moon and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
