Mora

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Mora was the anchor in her litter from the beginning - the others found security in her and stayed close. Eventually, the siblings were separated. Mora and Amarena have lived together until very recently when the sister moved to Sweden. Mora has a very fine dog language and gets along well with other, gentle and slightly calmer companions. Pushy dogs need not apply. Life should be calm and peaceful. On her walks around the enclosure, Mora has met several of the animals in care and our assessment is that she could very well share her future home with a dog-savvy cat. Since Mora spent a lot of time at the veterinary clinic due to her hip operations, she has developed a strong trust and love for the people there. She is an incredibly kind soul with a gaze that reaches into the heart. She has coped with her difficulties with patience and kindness - a truly amazing girl. Today, she is working on regaining strength in her back but would be very well off to continue her recovery in Sweden. She will be able to live a completely normal dog life but must not be overworked. The world's finest Mora is looking for the world's kindest people! For beautiful, sooty black Mora, we are now looking for a home that offers her lifelong belonging and love. The home should be at ground level and the youngest children should not be at home. The home should be a bit quieter. If there is a dog, it must be friendly and play in a nice way. It is important that you understand the limitations that apply and that you do not physically press Mora. You must also bear in mind that she grew up behind the protective walls of the enclosure and therefore lacks exposure to the outside world. She must be allowed to take her time to get acquainted with new environments and new people. BackgroundEmil, a private individual, found six abandoned tiny puppies in early January on a deserted field outside Fetesti, near Cernavoda. The puppies were only a few weeks old and alone in the world. The man realized that they would not survive without their mother and protection, so he took them in.

About Mora

What life with Mora looks like

Mora is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hundhjälpen in Stockholm.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇪Adopting from Sweden

Swedish shelters require an adoption application and home visit. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized. Cross-border placements within the EU use the standard pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundhjälpen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundhjälpen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Mora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundhjälpen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
