MORITZ

Male · Kitten · 3 months

Moritz is a playful and affectionate kitten born at our cat shelter who is now ready for adoption. He shares his traits with many other kittens currently seeking their forever homes. All of them are adorable and have charmed both staff and potential adopters alike. Many are already quite tame and enjoy being petted. However, be prepared for the unexpected - they can quickly turn from cuddly to wild in a matter of moments! See for yourself! Everyone who leaves our kittens' room will surely leave with a smile on their face. Watching this sweet gang and spending time with them is far better than any TV show! Boredom be gone ;-) Our kittens are always adopted in pairs or to an existing compatible cat due to animal welfare reasons. We would be happy to advise you on which kitten suits your home best. All cats are vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed with a small adoption fee and contract through the Osnabrück Cat Protection Association. We look forward to hearing from you! Until you meet Moritz and his housemates in person, you can watch them online via webcams at (Room B4-2). You can also find updates on many of our cats including photos and videos on Instagram, Facebook or our YouTube channel Katzenschutzbund Osnabrück e.V. There's always something happening at our cat house!

DE·Show original

In unserem Mietzhaus ist nämlich immer was los!

About MORITZ

What life with MORITZ looks like

MORITZ is a puppy/kitten cat waiting at Katzenschutzbund in Brüggen-Bracht.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting MORITZ, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about MORITZ?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Katzenschutzbund handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw MORITZ on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt MORITZ if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Katzenschutzbund will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is MORITZ already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if MORITZ isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Katzenschutzbund early rather than rehoming privately; they know MORITZ and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
