MORITZ

Male · Adult · 6 years

Moritz and Bubbi came to our shelter as part of a seizure, along with seven other cats. Both are male, neutered cats of the European Shorthair breed. Moritz was born around 2020, Bubbi around 2024. Moritz and Bubbi are looking for a quiet and loving home with patient people. Both are currently very anxious and shy and need a lot of time to get used to a new environment and their new caregivers. It is important that people do not pressure them, respect their retreat options and give them the necessary security to gain confidence at their own pace. Larger children are possible in the new home, as long as they are calm and respectful with the two. Moritz and Bubbi are compatible with their own kind. For the two, either an apartment with a securely networked balcony or later outdoor access in a quiet and low-traffic area is possible. Dear interested parties, we are very happy that maybe one of our protégés will find a new home with you soon. Please note in advance of a

About MORITZ

What life with MORITZ looks like

MORITZ is a adult cat waiting at Tierschutzverein München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting MORITZ, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about MORITZ?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein München handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw MORITZ on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt MORITZ if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein München will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is MORITZ already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if MORITZ isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein München early rather than rehoming privately; they know MORITZ and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
