Adopt Mort

Male · Senior · 11 years

Mort – this is a strong TTB puppy with a touching smile. Despite his size, he is a little one longing for human attention, love, and simply being a dog who can run, sniff, and explore the world. Mort arrived at the animal shelter in Korabiewicach Viva in September 2023, was taken from a pseudo-breeding, where he spent several years of his life. Mort arrived in very poor condition – underweight, scared, and with skin diseases. Unfortunately, the skin diseases still need to be regularly monitored. Unfortunately, he is already an older dog, but he still has a lot of strength and energy. It's good if the future caregiver is aware (and preferably has experience with the breed) of what working with TTB dogs is like. In the presence of people, despite his past, he is very friendly and patiently endures touch during procedures. Mort – to spory piesek w typie TTB, o dużej sile i rozczulającym uśmiechu. Mimo swojego rozmiaru, w środku jest maluchem spragnionym ludzkiej uwagi, miłości oraz po prostu bycia psem, który może biegać, węszyć i poznawać świat. Mort przyjechał do Schroniska w Korabiewicach Viva we wrześniu 2023r., został odebrany z pseudohodowli, gdzie spędził kilka lat swojego życia. Dobrze, by przyszły opiekun miał świadomość (a najlepiej doświadczenie z rasą), jak wygląda praca z psami w typie TTB. Wobec ludzi, mimo jego przeszłości, jest bardzo przyjazny, cierpliwie znosi dotyk podczas zabiegów. About Mort

What life with Mort looks like

Mort is a large senior dog waiting at Fundacja Viva Korabiewice in Korabiewice.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Ongoing skin condition requiring regular veterinary monitoring

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mort, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mort?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Viva Korabiewice handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mort on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mort if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Viva Korabiewice will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mort already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mort isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Viva Korabiewice early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mort and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
