Adopt Mosel

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

friendly, compatible, playful, house-trained, stubborn Mosel is a mixed-breed male dog approximately 2 years and 4 months old from Greece. Since almost two years, he has been living in Germany and has developed into a wonderful companion who now seeks his forever home. With a shoulder height of about 63 cm and weighing around 37 kg, Mosel is a sturdy dog with a very sensitive heart. He loves being outdoors, running, playing with other dogs, and even making a bit of mischief. So he often throws his treats around the house to make his own game. Water is less his element, but he enjoys walks and quality time with his humans. Mosel is very open with people, and children of any age are his biggest fans. However, his new humans should know that he can sometimes be a bit stormy in his joy. He gets along well with other dogs, but cats are not necessarily his best friends. At home, Mosel shows his uncomplicated side: he is house-trained, can also be left alone for a while (with a chew toy for distraction), loves to snuggle in bed in the morning, and masters the command "sit" reliably. He often listens better to commands like "lie down" than to classic commands. When the doorbell rings, he reliably alerts with a bark, just like a good house guardian should. Of course, Mosel also has his special sides: he doesn't particularly like car rides or baths, but he lets it happen. Vet visits are stressful for him, so he wears a muzzle as a precaution, even though he has learned that no one wants to harm him and has made progress. Due to his sensitive nature, he sometimes reacts with stomach problems to longer periods of loneliness, so a home where he doesn't have to be alone for long would be ideal. Especially noteworthy: Mosel has only one eye, as he had an injury last year that led to its removal. For him, this is no problem at all. He manages well and enjoys his life full of joy and energy. He occasionally gets ear infections, so some attention during care is sensible. We wish for Mosel a family or a couple who spends a lot of time with him, lovingly and consistently leads him, and gives him the attention he needs. A garden would be a small paradise for Mosel, but a quieter home with a couple who spoils him and gives him security would also be perfect. Children who are already standing firm would also be no problem for Mosel. Mosel is a sensitive, playful, and lively dog who unconditionally loves his people. With patience, affection, and clear guidance, he will be an incredibly loyal companion who surely brings a lot of joy to his new home. He can be very stubborn, which is very typical for a Herdi. With consistency, trust, and without pressure, it works well with Mosel. All vaccinated, microchipped, and have an EU passport. They are checked for Mediterranean diseases age-appropriately. See more info on our homepage. Every dog that is placed makes room for a dog who is hungry and emaciated.

AUFENTHALTSORT

About Mosel

What life with Mosel looks like

Mosel is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. in Greece.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇷Adopting from Greece

Frequently asked

Adopting Mosel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mosel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mosel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mosel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mosel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mosel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mosel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
