MOUNAY

European Shorthair · Female · Adult · 9 years

Status: Abandoned Breed: European Gender: Female Microchip: 947000000597569 Date of Birth: 01/05/2017 Country: Belgium In the shelter since: 08/07/2026 MOUNAY is a European cat brimming with energy and affection, who loves both roaming around outdoors and snuggling up against her humans in the evening. Talkative and endearing, she has plenty of love to share with the right family. Her personality: MOUNAY is very kind and affectionate, yet not overly clingy—she knows how to strike the perfect balance between cuddles and independence. She talks a lot, making her a companion full of character, and loves sleeping with people on the bed. She’s bursting with energy but knows how to be respectful of the home. Her needs: A garden is essential: MOUNAY has always spent most of her time outdoors, and we believe that apartment living isn’t suited for her. She needs physical exercise and space to channel her abundant energy. Car rides and carrying her in a carrier are a real source of stress for her—so it’s best to plan ahead for this aspect (few trips, a nearby vet, etc.). She’s used to children and feels comfortable around them. She gets along well with other cats, though she doesn’t particularly seek their company. We’re looking for adopters for MOUNAY who: Live in a house with a secure garden—a crucial condition for her well-being Families with children are welcome; she’s accustomed to their presence Can accommodate other cats if needed, though it’s not a requirement for her Ideally live close to a vet, to minimize the car rides she dreads Ready to enjoy her wonderful energy and her charming, talkative personality! Between a garden to explore and a cozy bed for the night, MOUNAY just needs a family to be truly happy. If you think you can provide her with this ideal environment, please contact us by phone—our team will be delighted to tell you more about her and arrange a meet-and-greet. Adoption is possible only with an “animal ownership permit” if you reside in Wallonia. For more information, please contact us ONLY by phone at 02 204 49 50.

About MOUNAY

What life with MOUNAY looks like

MOUNAY is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Help Animals in Brussels.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting MOUNAY, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about MOUNAY?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Help Animals handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw MOUNAY on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt MOUNAY if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Help Animals will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is MOUNAY already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if MOUNAY isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Help Animals early rather than rehoming privately; they know MOUNAY and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
