Mr. Mau was found on May 11th in 56727 Mayen, in the Magmastraße, crouching in front of an old people's home. The staff were concerned for him and contacted us so that the little guy could be helped. A colleague drove over and secured him. The full extent of his condition was then apparent at the animal shelter: emaciated, dehydrated, with severe vision impairment, and staggering from unusual coordination issues. A blood test revealed and confirmed his desolate state with many abnormal values. He is currently being treated for FIP. Leukemia is also still a possibility. Whether the little man will make it will show in the coming weeks. But Mr. Mau shows us that he has a strong fighting spirit, and of course, we are fighting with him. It would of course be wonderful if we could find an experienced foster home that could further fatten him up and care for his health until he recovers. At the animal shelter, he has little interaction and must live isolated from other cats, which of course is a horror for such a young, playful little guy.

Mr. Mau wurde am 11. Mai in 56727 Mayen, in der Magmastraße vor dem Eingang eines Altenheimes kauernd gefunden. Die Mitarbeiter machten sich Sorgen um ihn und kontaktierten uns, damit dem kleinen Kerl geholfen werden konnte. Eine Kollegin fuhr los und sicherte ihn. Im Tierheim war dann das ganze Ausmaß erkennbar: abgemagert, dehydriert, stark sehbeeinträchtigt und mit ungewöhnlichen Koordinationsstörungen torkelte er durch unsere Quarantäne. Ein Blutbild gab Aufschluss und bestätigte seinen desolaten Zustand mit vielen Werten außer der Norm. Er wird aktuell gegen FIP behandelt. Eine Leukoseerkrankung ist auch noch nicht ausgeschlossen. Ob der kleine Mann es schaffen wird, zeigt sich in den nächsten Wochen. Aber Mr. Mau zeigt uns, dass er einen starken Kämpferwillen hat. Und wir kämpfen natürlich mit ihm. Es wäre natürlich wunderbar, wenn wir eine erfahrene Pflegestelle fänden, die ihn weiter päppeln und gesund pflegen würde, bis er über den Berg ist. Im Tierheim hat er doch wenig Ansprache und muss isoliert von anderen Katzen leben, was natürlich für so ein junges, verspieltes Kerlchen ein Horror ist.
