Mr Sprinkles

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Unknown · Young · 3 years

Introducing Mr Sprinkles!! [Formally, and very briefly, known as Ramon] Mr Sprinkles is another dog we recently took in from a UK pound down South as his euthanasia date was set and he literally had hours left to live. We were told that he was completely shut down and hadn't left his kennel in the whole week that they'd had him. They sent us a video with a lead on hi m and the workers trying get him out of his kennel, he looked paralysed in fear and he was going absolutely nowhere. The look of sadness and fear that we saw in his eyes, we knew we had to help him and so before we knew it, he was on his way to us at Oakwood Dog Rescue. He arrived completely overwhelmed by everything, he was very quiet, moved very slowly and we just let him do what he needed to do, there was no pressure from us. Within 3 days, Mr Sprinkles and started forming bonds with the staff and became their abolute shadow. He goofy side was already coming out and he was showing us just what a silly and funny boy he is. His personality had been completely suppressed for who knows how long, but gaining this boy's trust and watching him blossom is just the best thing to watch, we all love him so much and we can't wait for him to find his forever people that will take him home as part of their family and for him to never be passed around again. He is such a little Prince and deserves to be treated like one <3 Due to just being castrated, we've not been able to dog mix Mr Sprinkles as of yet. From walking past the other dogs in kennels, he is very avoidant of them and doesn't want any trouble however, when he's met dogs through the fence, he shows us very clearly that he is not comfortable in their presence. Mr Sprinkles is not yet cat tested. Mr Spinkles has moderate to high energy levels Mr Sprinkles does not like to be left alone.Any time alone in a home will have to be slowly built up over time. We currently have him on an anxiety supplement to help him settle as he does become destressed by himself and he has caused damage to one of our enrichement room doors panicking to get out because he just wanted to be with his people where he felt safe. Mr Sprinkles loves his walks and does walk fairly well however he is a very strong boy when he wants to be Mr Sprinkles doesn't show to have any form of basic training at this time

About Mr Sprinkles

What life with Mr Sprinkles looks like

Mr Sprinkles is a young adult staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at Oakwood Dog Rescue in Kingston upon Hull.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mr Sprinkles, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mr Sprinkles?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Oakwood Dog Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mr Sprinkles on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mr Sprinkles if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Oakwood Dog Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mr Sprinkles already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mr Sprinkles isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Oakwood Dog Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mr Sprinkles and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
