Mufasa

Border Collie · Male

Description Our Spanish animal welfare workers report: Dreamdog Mufasa had already hit the jackpot and was adopted by a nice family from the city animal shelter in Spain. There, he lived very happily for a year. Now, the family is moving back to their home country and unfortunately can't afford the flight ticket for Mufasa. Reluctantly, the handsome and friendly male dog must now hope for another miracle. Mufasa loves to play, and also enjoys playing with other dogs. He gets along well with both male and female dogs. His curiosity and enthusiasm for every shared activity make him the ideal companion for active people who want to explore the world with him. Mufasa is obedient, listens carefully, and walks nicely on a leash. He also travels comfortably in the car and is very happy when he gets out of the boring, cramped kennel. The handsome Mufasa simply doesn't understand why he lost his home and family. We wish him so much that he finally finds a permanent home and becomes happy again. Like most animals from abroad, Mufasa will also need to adjust to life in the new home, as he knows neither large crowds of people nor the noisy city traffic from Spain. But we are optimistic that he will adapt quickly. We wish him a nice home in a rural environment, for example, on the outskirts of a city, where he can enjoy nature with his people. We are looking for people who are willing to take this wonderful companion with patience, time, and in a loving way to help him adjust to life and the new home.

About Mufasa

What life with Mufasa looks like

Mufasa is a large adult border collie dog waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mufasa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mufasa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mufasa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mufasa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mufasa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mufasa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mufasa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
