adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Muffin has found its own home! His story: At the shelter in Baia Mare, a whole litter of puppies is waiting to leave Romania as soon as possible and begin a new, better life. Five beautiful siblings – Muffin, Dalena, Nayla, Robbi, and Zoki – live together with their beautiful mother Karo, and they all urgently need support as they start their new lives, because they shouldn't grow up in noise, dirt, and behind bars. That's why we are determined not to rest until we have the dogs in safety and found a place for all five puppies with loving people who will care for and love them and show them how wonderful life as a family dog can be. Muffin is exactly like his siblings a little fighter, otherwise he wouldn't have made it to become such a lively, healthy puppy at this inhospitable and inappropriate place. He is friendly and open-minded and a typical playful, little male dog. He loves playing with his siblings. Muffin has fluffy, blonde fur and with his sturdy figure and sweet face, he resembles a little teddy bear. From black, shiny round eyes, he looks hopefully into his future. Muffin is only two to three months old and will likely reach a medium size. Of course, Muffin will quickly settle into his new home, although he naturally has no experience with life as a house dog and knows little about house training and leash manners. But Muffin is an alert little male dog who always tries to please people. With lots of love, understanding, and positive reinforcement, he will learn the entire puppy 1×1 class quickly. After the adjustment period, the cute puppy will be happy to visit a positively working dog training class. In a few months, Muffin will then enter puberty, which may upset everything he has learned so far. But with a loving and consistent upbringing by his adopters, the little puppy will emerge from this phase as a well-mannered and self-confident young male dog and accompany his family faithfully and reliably in all activities. We are very happy that Muffin and his siblings have developed so well and now wish for loving people who will take him in with love and patience, give him a family connection, a warm dog bed, wonderful walks, and – very important for a puppy – enough contact with fellow animals. We would also be very happy about a foster home for the little puppy. Thank you to the namingsponsor Valeria, who gave the little Muffin its perfect name! As of: 09.05. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 09.05.2024

About Muffin

What life with Muffin looks like

Muffin is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Muffin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Muffin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Muffin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Muffin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Muffin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Muffin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Muffin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
