adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Muppet has found a home! His story: Muppet lost his entire life in a tragic accident. The young male dog once had a home and a person by his side – until he lost his owner in a train accident. Everything changed for Muppet in an instant, and he found himself suddenly at the our shelter, where he hopes for a second chance. The approximately 1–2 year old male dog is about 35–40 cm tall and immediately catches the eye with his long, shaggy white fur and his black button eyes, with which he currently still looks at the world with some skepticism. No wonder, because he must first learn that his life can again become safe and reliable. With other dogs, Muppet shows uncomplicated and social behavior. Currently, he shares his pen with another male dog, which works without problems. Initially, Muppet was very shy towards people – understandable after the loss of his owner and the many changes. But slowly he begins to open up: Now he also approaches familiar people cautiously and with a wagging tail. He lets himself be touched without problems, although he still needs some time to build trust and enjoy the closeness with strangers. Muppet is a sensitive dog who simply needs a little time and patience to get back on track. In a quiet, loving home, he will learn step by step to let go and rebuild trust. For Muppet, we wish people with hearts who will give him the time he needs and show him that life can again be beautiful. Once he has built trust, he will surely be a faithful companion for life. After a positive evaluation, thank you to Claudia D.. Thanks to you, Muppet has an identity and can now go on the search for his Forever Home. Date: 01.04. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Lieben Dank an Claudia D.. About Muppet

What life with Muppet looks like

Muppet is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Muppet, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Muppet?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Muppet on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Muppet if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Muppet already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Muppet isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Muppet and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
