Shortly after, she gave birth to her puppies and lovingly cared for her little family. Today, her pups are old enough to go their own way and are now looking for their forever homes. Each one has its own unique personality—but they all share one thing in common: They’re looking for people who’ll show them the world and accompany them throughout their lives. Rex may be one of the smaller ones in the litter, but that certainly doesn’t stop him from joining in on everything. On the contrary: This little guy is full of joy and energy and is always on the go. Staying still for a photo shoot? Apparently, that’s an entirely unnecessary idea for Rex. Much more exciting for him are playing, exploring, and the next little adventure. With his shiny black coat, curious eyes, and cheerful nature, Rex is a real mood-lifter. He approaches his surroundings openly and seems to want to enjoy every single day to the fullest. Despite all his adventurous spirit, Rex also has a very soft side. As soon as the action is over, he’s always up for cuddles and loves being close to his people. This mix of playful explorer and cuddly family dog makes him a truly special little guy. Of course, Rex still has a lot to learn—everything a family dog should know. House training, leash walking, staying alone, and all the many impressions of everyday life are new to him. But with loving guidance, patience, and understanding, he’ll grow into a wonderful companion. For Rex, we’re looking for people who are excited about a happy, lively young dog and would like to accompany him on his journey to adulthood. Whoever gives him their heart will receive a loyal friend and lots of joy in return. .fusion-body .fusion-button Interested in adopting? About Rex

What life with Rex looks like

Rex is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Nordic Strays e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rex, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rex?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Nordic Strays e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rex on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rex if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Nordic Strays e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rex already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rex isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Nordic Strays e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rex and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
