adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt Myko! adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt Myko! Myko has been waiting for a forever home for over three years. The handsome fellow is about 6.5 years old, 45 cm tall, and weighs 15 kg. Myko had a tough start in life. He lived on the streets and was fed by the residents of an apartment block, but not everyone welcomed his presence. Eventually, he had to go. A kind young woman took him in for a while, but when she had to move to an apartment that did not allow pets, he found himself back on the streets. Even the scar over Mykos' nose testifies to a not-so-easy life. After several stays in dog shelters, he now lives in a foster family where he feels very comfortable, yet he still longs to find his forever home. Myko is a real dream dog. He is house-trained, walks well on a leash, and is easy to train. He enjoys car rides and loves people (even the small ones). He also has no fear of strangers and gets along well with both cats and dogs. He is a male dog in his prime, with childhood and puberty long behind him, and he can really start anew. Even though he can do many things, he would definitely be happy to attend dog training classes. And of course, he looks forward to many adventures in nature, a cozy dog bed, and lots of love from his very own people. In search of a family, however, there is a small obstacle to overcome. Myko is a mix of a list dog and cannot enter Germany or all cantons in Switzerland. But there are still many countries where it would not be a problem. We are happy to support and advise in any uncertainties. Myko will travel neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and with an EU pet passport to his new family. He is available now. Who will fall in love with the handsome Myko? Available: 02.03.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 02.03.2025

About Myko

What life with Myko looks like

Myko is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Myko, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Myko?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Myko on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Myko if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Myko already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Myko isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Myko and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
