adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Mylo has found a home! His story: Mylo is a true miracle. This small, only 5 kg dog was found in a terrible condition: bitten by other dogs, full of worms, and with a broken hind leg. Despite all the pain and fear he endured, Mylo never lost his gentle and loving nature. Anyone who knows him describes him as calm, relaxed, and incredibly kind. He never whines, even though he was in constant pain. He has already undergone an operation on his leg. However, a new X-ray shows that his other hip is also broken. Therefore, another operation is necessary. After that, he needs special physiotherapeutic care to be able to stand up fully again. He is a fighter and has earned the right to finally live without pain. Mylo is a simple and lovable little guy. He gets along excellently with other dogs and even with cats. He is simply grateful for any affection and longs for a place where he can feel safe. He may seem a bit fearful because he had to change foster homes recently. The circumstances were dramatic: the previous foster home could no longer keep him because the foster mom's partner did not allow it and even threatened to harm Mylo. So, Mylo had to be quickly brought to safety. Mylo has already experienced so much suffering and deserves a second chance at a happy life. He needs a family that not only provides the necessary medical care but also offers the patience, love, and security he so desperately needs. Mylo travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated to his new home. He can, after being neutered, travel to Switzerland. But even a foster home willing to accompany him through his recovery process would be a great help. Do you want to help Mylo finally shine and present his true beauty? Thank you, Diana B.! You gave Mylo a name and the chance to be happily rehomed. Status: 07.08.

Stand: 07.08.2025

About Mylo

What life with Mylo looks like

Mylo is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mylo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mylo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mylo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mylo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mylo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mylo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mylo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
