Adopt Naima

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

friendly, compatible, playful, reserved, initially skeptical Update May 2026: Naima is hardly recognizable. She approaches someone, allows for petting, and seeks contact. This was unthinkable just a few months ago. Naima will always remain a somewhat reserved female dog in new situations, but in everyday life and with a routine, she has become a wonderful companion. With our volunteer helpers, Naima has already made some trips to the beach. Driving is no problem, and she walks nicely on the leash. Naima has developed into a wonderful, nice, open female dog who can live as a single dog or happily also as a single dog. Naima was caught near a highway. That was not a good place, and she should not return there. She was even already neutered, and we only fattened up the nice female dog. Naima showed herself to be very shy and did not want to make contact with us at first. After being with us for some time, we wanted to settle her outside at the animal shelter, where a nice little pack already lives. Naima got a pen with food, water, and a hut with an exit to the outside. She found everything very exciting and first explored the surroundings before returning. When she eventually no longer found us in her pen, she walked around the entire animal shelter and strolled back in through the entrance. So she decided to stay with us, and we are now trying to find her a wonderful home. Naima is very reserved and very cautious around people. For a treat, she comes over and takes it out of the hand. If she is on the leash, it is no problem to pet her. She gets along well with other dogs and is a popular playmate. Naima is looking for a rural home. She will need patience and time at the beginning to build trust. Her experiences with people have not always been positive. Naima is a very friendly, sensitive soul who would like to join a family. All are vaccinated, microchipped, and have an EU passport. They are checked for Mediterranean diseases age-appropriately. See more info on our homepage. Every dog that is placed makes room for a dog who is hungry and emaciated.

freundlich, verträglich, verspielt, zurückhaltend, anfangs skeptisch Update Mai 2026: Naima erkennt man kaum wieder. AUFENTHALTSORT

About Naima

What life with Naima looks like

Naima is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. in Greece.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇷Adopting from Greece

Greek shelters often partner with Northern European rescue groups for placements. Animals are sterilized, vaccinated, and chipped before adoption. Fees vary widely depending on whether the shelter is municipal or NGO-run.

Frequently asked

Adopting Naima, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Naima?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Naima on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Naima if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Naima already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Naima isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Naima and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
