Adopt Nala

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

General Name: Nala Gender: female dog neutered: yes Born: ca. April 2023 Size: ca. 45 cm Residence: foster home in 90425 Nürnberg Sponsors: no Reserved: no Affectionate Nala seeks her forever home For Nala, we are looking for a loving family where she can arrive in peace. The 3-year-old, ca. 45 cm tall female dog was allowed to travel from Romania to Germany in May to her foster home. From the very first moment, she shows her best side: she is clingy, friendly, and can't get enough of cuddles. Contact with her people is at the top of her to-do list; she loves attention and even enjoys being brushed. In new situations, Nala is initially cautious but always curious. She wants to discover the world and brings the best prerequisites for it: Nala is already house-trained, shows herself as a pleasant roommate in the apartment, and walks on a leash outside quite well. When the environment is quiet and relaxed, Nala enjoys her walks. With many new impressions like passing buses, loud noises, or direct encounters with other dogs, she currently reacts excitedly. Here, she needs a loving, consistent guidance to learn that she can remain calm in these situations. Of course, she still needs to learn the dog basics, but Nala brings a great foundation. She responds well to praise and treats. If met with patience, she understands quickly and learns very easily. Being alone works well for a short period, and she also takes the first training attempts very well. Nala is a compatible female dog that gets along well with both people and her fellow animals. We wish for her a home that gives her the necessary security and continues to show her the world. Nala is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. She is rehomed through the association Freundekreis Notfallen e.V. She can be visited in 90425 Nürnberg upon appointment. Background Nala had a family in Romania. Her owners left the country and simply left her behind. She was cared for by a neighbor on the street for some time and was eventually brought to the shelter. Notes The parentage is unknown, so no information can be given about the included breeds.

About Nala

What life with Nala looks like

Nala is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Freundeskreis Notfellchen e.V. in Dorsten.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nala, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nala?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Freundeskreis Notfellchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nala on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nala if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Freundeskreis Notfellchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nala already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nala isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Freundeskreis Notfellchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nala and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
