Hard Shell – Soft Heart: Our Appenzeller-mixed breed is a sturdy fellow. His alert gaze and body language immediately reveal that Balou wants to get to know who he is dealing with before he goes in for a closer inspection. Balou learns quickly and willingly. He loves being kept busy and challenged and is absolutely loyal to those who have earned his trust. Unfortunately, he often overdoes his loyalty by trying to keep everyone and everything at arm's length. We suspect that he had to make some formative experiences in his earlier life. Therefore, he is looking for a loving, female leader, a child-free household in a rural area without much commotion. He would be the perfect four-legged partner. Balou needs a dog-experienced primary caregiver by his side who shows him with calmness, understanding, and patience, but also with persistence and consistency that not every stranger is an enemy. He also still has a lot to learn about things that didn't exist in his world before. If you want to give Balou a home, please contact us first by phone. We thank Eva S. and Cornelia S. Harte Schale – weicher Kern: Unser Appenzeller-Mischling ist ein stattlicher Kerl. Sein wacher Blick und seine Körpersprache verraten sofort, dass Balou erst wissen möchte, mit wem er es zu tun hat, bevor er auf Tuchfühlung geht. Balou lernt gerne und rasch. Er liebt es, beschäftigt und gefordert zu werden und ist denen gegenüber, die sein Vertrauen gewonnen haben, absolut loyal. Leider übertreibt er es mit dieser Loyalität gerne, indem er alle und alles fernzuhalten versucht. Wir vermuten, dass er in seinem früheren Leben seine ihn prägenden Erfahrungen machen musste. Er sucht daher eine tierliebe, weibliche Führungsperson, einen Haushalt ohne Kinder und ohne viel Trubel in einer ländlichen Gegend. Da wäre er der perfekte Partner auf vier Pfoten. Balou braucht eine hundeerfahrene Bezugsperson an seiner Seite, die ihm mit Ruhe, Sachverstand und Geduld, aber auch mit Beharrlichkeit und Konsequenz zeigt, dass nicht in jedem Fremden ein Feind lauert.
