Adopt Nala

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Gender: Female Nala is ready for new adventures. Her brother was dropped off at the animal shelter in Poland last winter. The two puppies found a home together in Poland soon after. Of course, two young dogs are a challenge, and when the family's circumstances changed, both dogs had to be rehomed. The woman was overwhelmed with two young dogs and small children in the household. Fortunately, she contacted our Polish foster home for help. Thus, the animal shelter was spared for the two dogs. At the foster home, Nala and her brother show themselves to be loving, nice, and cheerful young dogs. However, they will now be rehomed separately. Nala walks well on a leash and loves to run and play outside. She is ready for new adventures and would like to learn the small dog ABCs. So far, not much has been done with her, but she is eager to learn and clever, and she is happy when you engage with her. Nala knows life in a house, she knows children, and she gets along well with her fellow animals. She would surely be a great family dog and is also suitable for beginner dog owners. Nala is currently at a foster home in 64823 Groß Umstadt. You can visit her there: www.mixfelle-dobermann-nothilfe.de Note: You will be redirected from our page. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

About Nala

What life with Nala looks like

Nala is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Hunde in Not Rhein-Main e.V. in Bad Vilbel.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nala, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nala?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Hunde in Not Rhein-Main e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nala on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nala if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Hunde in Not Rhein-Main e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nala already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nala isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Hunde in Not Rhein-Main e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nala and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
