Nala

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

September 2021 | 17 kg | approx. 55 cm | Rescue station on Rhodes She was found in December at the beginning in the mountains in the south of Rhodes. Alone and visibly thin. That she was still alive was almost a miracle. The fighter was first taken to the animal shelter. When Dimitra saw her, it was immediately clear: She is coming with us to our rescue station. There she was welcomed very warmly and lovingly by our other dogs. They immediately accepted her into the pack, and you could see how grateful and happy she was about that. Now she is safe. She is much better now, but she still needs to gain a few kilograms. Otherwise, she is completely healthy and despite everything a cheerful dog who has an enormous amount of love to give. She loves the other dogs and people. When someone comes to the rescue station, she sometimes doesn't know where to go first. She is super curious, playful and funny. She loves to hide things and to run and play with the other dogs. Just an incredible lively mouse who constantly makes you laugh. Once she has burned off her energy, she comes over and asks for cuddles. Then she can relax and calm down. If you give her a second chance and a warm, safe basket, you will certainly be rewarded with a soul dog. PAW HEROES e.V. Email: © 2022 PAW HEROES e.V. – All Rights Reserved.

PAW HEROES e.V. E-Mail: © 2022 PAW HEROES e.V. – All Rights Reserved.

About Nala

What life with Nala looks like

Nala is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at og:image in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nala, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nala?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. og:image handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nala on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nala if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — og:image will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nala already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nala isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with og:image early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nala and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
