Adopt Nala

Mixed Breed · Female

My name is Nala. I was born on May 14, 2022, and I am a small, 3.5-year-old female dog who really needs a calm, safe place in the world. I came to the animal shelter on March 10, 2026... My previous home was not suitable for me - I couldn't find my way in the company of children. It's not my fault or theirs - I'm just a puppy who feels best in silence and peace. I am polite and well-behaved - I can easily be left alone at home and behave calmly then. I like predictability, routine and a caregiver who gives me a sense of security. In such an environment I can really thrive and show my warm, faithful heart. With strangers I am a bit yappy - it's my way of dealing with uncertainty. I need someone patient who will show me that the world doesn't have to be scary. When I trust... I become a loyal, loving companion. I'm not fond of children, so I'm looking for an adult, calm home - one where I can just be myself, without stress. I am healthy - I have current vaccinations, deworming and I have already had the spaying procedure. I dream of a home full of care and understanding... someone who won't change me, but will love me just as I am. Maybe it's you who will give me this chance?

Do schroniska trafiłam 10 marca 2026 roku… W takim środowisku potrafię naprawdę rozkwitnąć i pokazać swoje ciepłe, wierne serduszko.

About Nala

What life with Nala looks like

Nala is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Zabrze in Zabrze.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nala, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nala?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Zabrze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nala on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nala if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Zabrze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nala already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nala isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Zabrze early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nala and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
