Nanda

Mixed Breed · Female

Nanda is 4.5 years old (as of 01/2023) and a very beautiful Bodeguero-Mix girl. Everything suggests that this cheerful female dog has already learned to love life in the house - and also how she ended up on the street can only be guessed, but since no one is looking for this friendly dog, she was probably abandoned. Nanda was alone in the city and was secured on a large square in Linares and brought into the care of ArcoNatura. The first days Nanda was very uncertain and could not really cope with her new environment, she sat alone and sad in the kennel and sought shelter in a corner. But after a short time, the first volunteers could gently pet her, and anyone who came to visit the animal shelter of our friends a few days later saw a cheerful Terrier-Mix who rolled on her back to have her belly rubbed. Nanda has been in the facility for just three weeks and has become a favorite among the volunteers. This funny girl is delighted by the smallest attentions, always seeks the company of the volunteers, gets along well with her four-legged roommates and is naturally terrier-like clever. Even in the hectic environment of ArcoNatura, where there is rarely peace and hardly anyone can spend more than two minutes for a single dog, Nanda quickly and happily learns - and twice as fast if delicious cookies are involved. Nanda is looking for a cheerful, active family with whom she can discover the world. Long walks, playing ball in the garden, cuddling on the couch, begging at the table - Nanda is open to everything that makes the life of a family dog valuable and fun. She is ready to give everything to cheer up her new best friends on sad days, warm up the couch in winter before you snuggle up for a movie night together, always ensure a laugh in the house and make sure that new friends are found on walks. Nanda is an intelligent, extremely friendly girl who is more than ready to start a new life - she needs your help! So please contact us if you have a warm, soft dog bed free for our princess ... and be prepared that Nanda will rarely use the dog bed because she prefers to lie close to you and feel your love.

DE·Show original

About Nanda

What life with Nanda looks like

Nanda is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nanda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nanda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nanda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nanda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nanda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nanda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nanda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
