Nani

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Temperament: Nani is an older dog smaller than a typical German shepherd, who behaves like a never-growing puppy. He is full of joy - he loves rolling in the grass, treats and chew toys. He likes to be petted, but he decides himself when to come for affection and when it's enough. On walks he is full of energy - at first he may pull, but he quickly calms down and walks on a loose leash, occasionally turning back to make sure you are walking with him. He sometimes jumps up on people in excitement, for example out of joy or waiting for a treat, but he does so with amazing delicacy. Other dogs are usually ignored, although he sometimes pulls a bit and barks a little at more excitable ones. He could potentially live with a balanced dog. We are looking for a caregiver for Nani who will love him for who he is, and in return will get a loyal companion for walks and relaxation.

Inne psy zwykle ignoruje, choć do bardziej pobudliwych trochę ciągnie i nieco podszczekuje. Potencjalnie mógł by zamieszkać z zrównoważonym psem. Szukamy dla Naniego opiekuna, który pokocha go za to jakim jest, a w zamian uzyska oddanego kompana do wspólnych spacerów jak i wspólnego odpoczywania.

About Nani

What life with Nani looks like

Nani is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu in Poznan.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nani, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nani?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nani on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nani if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nani already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nani isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nani and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
