Nayana

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

Nayana is also from Raikküla colony, like many other animals in my care. It was quite difficult for both me and Nayan at the beginning, so terrifying was it for him to see a human. He wasn't really a fighter or a biter, but his fear in his eyes and his desire to escape were so great that I just left him to calm down and only offered him food. But over time, the fear began to fade and Nayana now feels quite comfortable in the cat room. It will certainly take some time with the dogs, but it's already a big step that he no longer flees from the dog cage. Even the opposite - when I go to the cat room with food, he greets me with a happy meow and rubbing against the scratching post, and comes closer more bravely. Nayana has come a long way to learn to trust people more. It will probably take a little more time before the first pats and licks come, but they will come, because curiosity is present in the cat and it will become easier by following others. It would go faster in its own home, with its own person, who has time and the desire to encourage it. If Nayana touched your heart and you are ready to give it time to adjust, please send an email to foster home to the email address !

ET·Show original

Tekkis huvi? Täida ankeet ja paku kodu!

About Nayana

What life with Nayana looks like

Nayana is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Gabrieli Loomade Elu MTÜ in Estonia.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇪Adopting from Estonia

Frequently asked

Adopting Nayana, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nayana?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Gabrieli Loomade Elu MTÜ handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nayana on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nayana if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Gabrieli Loomade Elu MTÜ will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nayana already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nayana isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Gabrieli Loomade Elu MTÜ early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nayana and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ET). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
