Negruta - Elegant black beauty with gentle eyes: young female dog seeks her first home. 🍀 Negruta - Elegant black beauty with gentle eyes: young female dog seeks her first home. The beautiful Negruta is waiting in the municipal animal shelter to be discovered by her humans! At around 7 months old (born around 02/2026), the pretty little girl has spent almost her entire life behind bars - she moved into the shelter on January 13, 2026 as a tiny puppy. She has grown up in the shelter and only knows the dull routine behind bars. All the more urgently she wants to finally get to know the big world outside. Visually, Negruta is a real elegance on four paws: she stands out with her short, deep black fur, a charming little white spot on her chest and a slender, slender figure with long legs. Her dark, loyal eyes look gently and attentively into the world. She currently measures around 45-50 cm shoulder height and will reach a medium stature of around 50-55 cm when fully grown. Characteristically, Negruta is friendly and affectionate in dealing with people. Due to the low-stimulation upbringing in the shelter, she is sometimes a bit shy and reserved in new situations, but quickly gains confidence with a little patience. Since she has not yet experienced life in a family, the dog basics - such as house training, leash training and getting used to everyday noises - must be practiced with her step by step and without pressure. Negruta gets along well with her fellow dogs and is social. A confident first dog could give her additional support and orientation in her new home. Negruta travels to her new home vaccinated, chipped and with an EU pet passport after a positive preliminary check. Friendly, initially a bit shy, attentive ✓ Experienced dog people ✓ Wants to be a single dog ✓ Would like to have another dog ✓ Wants to live in the countryside - No small children in the household - No urban environment Negruta came to the shelter as a puppy. We do not know anything about her background. Help Negruta find a home - share this with your friends ❤️

About Negruta

What life with Negruta looks like

Negruta is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Hundsrücker Tierschutz gUG in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Negruta, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Negruta?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundsrücker Tierschutz gUG handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Negruta on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Negruta if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundsrücker Tierschutz gUG will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Negruta already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Negruta isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundsrücker Tierschutz gUG early rather than rehoming privately; they know Negruta and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
