Nele

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Nele has found a home! Her story: 15834 Rangsdorf. Nele had great luck and was able to travel in mid-June 2022. Nele is now about 1 year old and measures 60 cm. Nele is a beautiful mixed-breed female – a mix of totally scruffy and very shy. Nele wishes for a home where it is quiet and best with many beautiful fields and few cars. So, a more rural area with little traffic, preferably with a nice enclosed garden and a nice little house. We can also imagine that hiking, jogging, and swimming would make Nele very happy. Nele is not a dog who immediately lets strangers touch her. She searches for loving and empathetic people with experience who can work positively with her and support her. We do not see small children in Nele's home, it is too much hustle and bustle for her. She gets along super well with other dogs and also gets along without any problems with cats. Additionally, Nele searches for a more rural home. She is not a dog you can take to a city stroll and she also does not like other larger events. For Nele, we are looking for empathetic people, preferably with a sovereign only dog. Because Nele plays very well with other dogs and they give her security. At first, she is still shy and needs extra patience, time, and understanding. But if you go the path with her and give Nele the time she needs, you will earn her trust. She is a loving, lively, and playful female dog who will surely make her people laugh every day and give them many beautiful years together. Our Nele is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and treated for fleas, and brings her EU Companion Animal Passport. After a positive match, do you fall in love with this wonderful soul? Many thanks, Sylvia S.! You have given Nele a name and thus an identity!

Vielen Dank Sylvia S.!

About Nele

What life with Nele looks like

Nele is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nele, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nele?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nele on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nele if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nele already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nele isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nele and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
