Neli - a delicate, timid dog soul. Recently, our little senior Neli was able to move from our Spanish partner animal shelter to a foster home in Germany. Everything was new for her, as she had not yet experienced life in a house. Accordingly, she is quite shy and still quite anxious, gradually working her way into her new life. Smooth floors, sounds of daily household activities, windowpanes through which one can look but not go - everything is creepy. However, she has quickly been able to trust her foster mother and enjoys cuddling. She is slowly becoming more confident on short walks, but even here, much is initially unsettling. Therefore, it is very difficult for her to let go outside, which means she has not yet been housebroken. Neli is a picky eater and does not tolerate everything; we are still testing what suits her. The small dog has a bilateral patellar luxation, presumably congenital, according to the veterinarian's assumption. This would generally be operable, but we are now first trying conservative treatment for the emerging pains. An operation would be a big deal at her age and would not change the existing arthritis. In addition, an enlargement was detected, which grows rather quickly. After aspiration, it seems to be a relatively harmless lipoma, but of course, it should not become too large. Neli – eine zarte, ängstliche Hundeseele Vor Kurzem konnte unsere kleine Seniorin Neli aus unserem spanischen Partnertierheim nach Deutschland auf eine Pflegestelle wechseln. Dort war alles neu für sie, da sie das Leben im Haus bislang nicht kennengelernt hatte. Dementsprechend schüchtern und immer noch recht ängstlich erarbeitet sie sich gerade ihr neues Leben. Glatte Böden, Geräusche des täglichen Haushalts, Fensterscheiben, durch die man schauen, aber nicht gehen kann – alles gruselig. Zu ihrem Pflegefrauchen hat sie aber recht schnell Vertrauen fassen können und sie genießt es zu kuscheln. Langsam wird sie auch auf kleinen Spaziergängen zuversichtlicher, aber auch hier ist vieles zunächst unheimlich. Es fällt ihr daher sehr schwer, sich draußen zu lösen, was bedeutet, dass sie noch nicht stubenrein wurde. Neli ist ein mäkeliger Esser und verträgt auch nicht alles, hier wird noch ausprobiert, was ihr guttut. Die kleine Hündin hat hinten beidseitig eine Patellaluxation, nach Vermutung der Tierärztin angeboren. Das wäre grundsätzlich operabel, aber wir versuchen nun zunächst einmal, konservativ die entstehenden Schmerzen zu behandeln. Eine Operation wäre in ihrem Alter eine große Sache und würde an der bereits vorhandenen Arthrose nichts mehr ändern. Außerdem wurde eine Umfangvermehrung festgestellt, die recht schnell wächst. Nach Punktion ist es wohl ein ungefährliches Lipom, aber es sollte natürlich nicht zu groß werden. In dem Fall müsste es entfernt werden. Finden wir noch ein endgültiges Zuhause für Neli?
