Adopt Neptun

Male · Adult · 4 years

Neptun is a 4-year-old male in the TTB type, neutered. A dog who in his previous life had no clearly defined boundaries or a proper dog–handler relationship. He was not taught rules, did not respect human space, did not respond to commands, and his basic needs—both physical and emotional—were not properly met. Today Neptun is in a completely different place. He has learned to communicate with people and basic commands. He understands that a person can be a guide, and that shared life is based on rules and mutual respect. He is a typical home dog—who will best find his place in a calm, orderly environment. Neptun is a sensitive dog who very much needs routine. A set time for rest helps him calm down and maintain balance. He knows the kennel and functions well in it—he treats it as a safe space that helps him regulate his emotions. A consistent daily schedule, predictability, and consistency are key to his stability. In his relationship with Neptune, it is extremely important to set clear boundaries and continue building trust. This is a dog who, with proper guidance, shows his best qualities—loyalty, devotion, and willingness to cooperate. The new caregiver should be a calm, firm, and consistent person. Neptun needs someone who will be a stable guide for him, provide a sense of security, and take care of his needs. In the right hands, he will become a wonderful, loyal companion for years. We are looking for a home without small children and other animals. The dog is currently on a behavioral training program.

Neptun to 4 letni samiec w typie TTB, wykastrowany. Szukamy domu bez małych dzieci i innych zwierząt. Pies przebywa na treningu behawioralnym. Agata 602395583

About Neptun

What life with Neptun looks like

Neptun is a large adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Requires behavioral training, needs routine and structure, uses crate as safe space

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Neptun, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Neptun?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Neptun on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Neptun if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Neptun already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Neptun isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Neptun and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
